safeguarding.

Safeguarding is important in any situation whatsoever, domestic, council, work, church or school, because it protects vulnerable people from harm, abuse, and neglect. Safeguarding also helps to prevent crime and exploitation, promote equal opportunities, build trust and confidence, and fulfill legal obligations.  Abuse and harassment can happen to anyone in any environment.  There is an ethical and legal duty to prevent and address any instance of abuse, harm, and neglect.  Safeguarding protects vulnerable people, builds trust, and prevents abuse.
